As part of This Girl Can Week 2020, Golden Plains Shire Council is supporting community groups, clubs and organisations with grants to run physical activity initiatives.

This Girl Can is a Victorian Government campaign to promote physical activity for women and girls. The campaign is dedicated to encouraging more women to give physical activity a shot, whether this is trying something new, returning to a long-lost activity, or visiting a local activity provider or sporting club.

Funded by VicHealth, Golden Plains Shire Council will support not-for-profit sporting, recreation clubs and community grants with $300 to run initiatives during This Girl Can Week. Applicants are required to match funding in the form of either in-kind or financial contributions, and part of the activity must run during This Girl Can Week from 23 to 29 March.

Grant applications are now open and close 4pm, Friday 7 February 2020. To apply for a grant, complete the online form at goldenplains.smartygrants.com.au/2020TGC.

Interested groups with queries on guidelines, deadlines or other questions, can contact Council’s Health and Wellbeing team on 5220 7111 or email [email protected].
