Golden Plains Twilight Market returning this year – save the date!

Media Release

The Golden Plains Twilight Market will be running again in 2018, following the outstanding success of last year’s inaugural event, which attracted 3,000+ visitors.

Golden Plains Shire Council invites residents and visitors to join the family fun on Thursday 20 December on the corner of High and Milton Streets, Bannockburn, 4-9pm.

Council’s second Golden Plains Twilight Market, again supported by the generous sponsorship of Powershop and Bannockburn Bendigo Bank, is already set to be even better than last year’s event. An extension of the popular monthly Golden Plains Farmers’ Market, but with some exciting differences, the Twilight Market will feature farm-fresh produce, handcrafted gifts and artwork, live music, a craft beer van, wine and cocktail bars, fast food and much more.

More than 50 stalls will feature at the market, including Mangata Jewellery, offering sustainable handmade items; Tall Tree Road, selling creative woodcraft and décor pieces; Bells Brewing Co., with a craft beer bar for patrons, and Cooks Treat, serving pulled pork sliders – this is just a small sample of what will be on offer.

Local performer and The Voice star, Johnny Rollins will headline on the market stage with his laid back tunes, as families enjoy a summer evening of last-minute Christmas shopping, food and fun, all whilst supporting local growers, makers and artists.

Cr Helena Kirby, Mayor said, “The Twilight Market brings together the very best of the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market – and throws in some great extras.”

“You can stock up on produce for your Christmas meal, pick up unique handcrafted gifts and even have a glass of lovely local wine or craft beer.

“In response to community feedback, this year we will have more food and seating available as well as better foot traffic flow through the site.

“We are excited that all stall sites for this year’s market sold out quickly, with locals and visitors of all ages sure to enjoy a great night out in Bannockburn.

“We have also had to make the tough decision to implement a 'no dog' policy this year, as the majority of 2017 Twilight Market-goers said they felt the event was not able to cater safely and comfortably for our canine friends, so please leave them at home in 2018,” Cr Kirby finished.
