Golden Plains Shire Council is delighted to announce that it will launch its first ever Twilight Market on Thursday 21 December on the corner of High and Milton Streets, Bannockburn, 4.00pm – 9.00pm.

The Golden Plains Twilight Market is an extension of the popular monthly Farmers’ Market, but with some exciting additions! The Market will feature farm-fresh produce, fine crafts and local artwork, live music, a craft beer and wine bar, fast food vans and fun for the whole family.

Local performer and The Voice star Imogen Brough will headline on the Market stage with her hauntingly beautiful tunes, as families enjoy a summer evening of last minute Christmas shopping and support local growers, makers and artists.

Feedback from the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market’s monthly customer survey as well as recent Facebook feedback, indicated strong support for a night market as well as the inclusion of arts and crafts.  (The Farmers’ Market is restricted when it comes to craft stalls due to its Victorian Farmers’ Market Association accreditation – which assures customers that the market is a genuine farmers’ market, a fair marketplace and not compromised by resellers.)

Cr Des Phelan, Mayor said, “The Twilight Market brings together the very best of the Farmers’ Market – and throws in some great extras.”

“You can stock up on produce for your Christmas meal, pick up handmade crafts as last minute gifts and even grab a chilled craft beer – while enjoying a great twilight atmosphere with live music and more,” Mayor Phelan said.

“The event is going to be a great evening out for people of all ages,” said finished Mayor Phelan.

A Twilight Market page has been set up on the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market website, with a list of stallholders who have already signed up – this is expected to grow following this announcement.
