Council would like to congratulate the Geelong Falcons on their win in the TAC Cup Girls Grand Final in May, where they played against the Northern Knights.

Coached by Jason Armistead, a Golden Plains resident and Golden Plains Shire Council employee, our Shire was also represented in the player group.

Cr Kirby Mayor, said, “Council is delighted to see a local resident sharing his knowledge and wisdom of the game with rising, young female athletes. It’s competitions such as this that help create a brighter and more inclusive future for women.”

The Falcons completed an undefeated season, coming from behind in the second half to defeat the Knights 4.8 (32) to 3.3 (21).

This is a huge achievement and Council would like to congratulate all involved, particularly Coach Jason!
