Council conversation post in Bannockburn a success

Bannockburn

Councillors, Senior Managers and Health and Wellbeing Officers took to the Bannockburn Plaza to staff a pop-up conversation post on Wednesday 1 August.

Cr Sharkey, Cr Evans and staff were available to chat with residents about their concerns and ideas, with around 50 community members giving feedback, sharing their ideas or reporting concerns.

Our conversation and listening posts are proving to be an effective way to reach out to residents, providing those who pass by with direct access to Council staff and Councillors.

Part of this engagement involved launching our new campaign, ‘Community conversation around local Health Services’, which is designed to understand how health services are currently being accessed and how we can identify any gaps to support planning and advocacy of future health services.

While Council holds various conversation and listening posts across the Shire throughout the year, this event was part of our special 'Conversations with Council' calendar, where Councillors and senior executive staff come along to hear from, and talk to, the community. This was our third pop-up post from the 'Conversations with Council' schedule; our first two were held in Rokewood and Inverleigh.
