Golden Plains Shire Council recently hosted a webinar series on growing and caring for edible gardens as part of the Golden Growers initiative.

More than 100 local residents participated in the free webinar series with Craig Castree, a qualified horticulturist with 45 years of experience in creating edible gardens and growing his own food organically.

During the webinar series, participants learned how to turn an existing garden into an edible and attractive space delivering fresh home grown produce without chemicals, and the differences between an edible garden and a vegetable garden.

As part of the series, an edible gardens photo competition was held, with participants sharing pictures of how they’ve implemented their learnings at home. Mayan Rowling selected as the photo competition winner.

If you’re interested in learning more about edible gardens, you can watch the webinar series on Council's Golden Growers page
