Avid cricketers in Lethbridge will benefit from an upgraded cricket net facility following a funding announcement from the Victorian Government.

At the opening of the Lethbridge Lights and Irrigation Project on Wednesday 7 July, Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle MP announced to an excited crowd that the Victorian Government will contribute $100,000 from its Community Cricket Program towards the Lethbridge Cricket Net Upgrade project.

Golden Plains Shire Council welcomes this funding support for the $170,000 project, which will include the relocation and construction of an outdoor cricket training net facility consisting of three synthetic pitches at the Lethbridge Recreation Reserve.

A partnership project, Council will contribute $50,000 and the Lethbridge Cricket Club will put in $20,000 to build a better cricket facility for the Lethbridge players and community.

The Lethbridge Cricket Net Upgrade will follow the recently completed Lethbridge Lights and Irrigation Project, which included four lighting towers and upgraded irrigation as part of a $450,000 partnership project from all three tiers of government.
