Fishing Day in Lethbridge a hit

Child & Family Services
Lethbridge

Over 120 local residents attended the Lethbridge ‘come and try’ fishing day on Sunday 23 September – what an amazing turnout.

Organised by the Lethbridge Recreation Reserve community group, the event allowed families to enjoy fun recreational fishing at the Lethbridge Lake, whilst connecting with friends and family in the great outdoors.

A small part of the event was funded through a Council ‘Gem of an Idea’ grant (which provided free fishing rods, bait and tackles for children) to help locals continue this outdoor pastime throughout the year and encourage families to get outdoors and be active.

A huge congratulations is extended to the Lethbridge Recreation Reserve community group for their efforts in planning the event. Special mention goes out to Troy Broom, a resident who went the extra mile to organise and coordinate this fantastic community event.
