Golden Plains Shire Council will have altered hours during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
The Customer Service Centres at Bannockburn and Smythesdale will close at 5pm, Thursday 24 December, 2020, and will re-open at 8.30am, Monday 4 January, 2021. Essential services will be available in this period, in case of emergency. Residents requiring urgent assistance can call 5220 7111 and follow the prompts.
The Bannockburn Family Services Centre including Maternal and Child Health Service and Active Ageing and Inclusion Services will also close at 5pm, Thursday 24 December, 2020 and re-open for normal operational hours from Monday 4 January, 2021. A number of Community Care workers will deliver essential personal care during the holiday period, and Maternal and Child Health will also deliver essential services on designated dates.
Maternal and Child Health consultation from Meredith, Teesdale, Inverleigh and Rokewood Early Years facilities will recommence from Monday 4 January, 2021 by appointment only.
Council’s Kindergarten Services in Bannockburn, Teesdale, Rokewood, Inverleigh and Meredith will be closed by Friday 18 December, 2020 and programs will recommence from Friday 29 January, 2021.
Bannockburn Children’s Service will close from 12pm, Thursday 24 December, 2020. Kardinia Early Learning Inc. will commence operating at Bannockburn Family Services Centre the week of 4 January 2021.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
There are some changes to Council’s waste and recycling collection service over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Residents who would normally have their bin collected on Fridays will have their bin collected on Saturday 26 December, 2020 and Saturday 2 January, 2021, instead of Friday 25 December, 2020 and Friday 1 January, 2021. There are no changes to bin collections on other days during the holiday period. Refer to the table below for your revised collection day during the festive season, and please remember to place your bins out the night before your collection day.
