In December, the Victorian Government changed pool and spa barrier safety standards, which include new registration, inspection and certification requirements for property owners.

Under the changes, local residents are required to register their pool and spa with Golden Plains Shire by 1 June 2020, and have their safety barrier inspected once every four years.

To register, you can fill out a registration form online, download a form and fill it out by hand, or collect a hard-copy form from our Bannockburn, Smythesdale or Linton Customer Service Centres.

Once you’ve registered your pool or spa, you will receive a letter from Council confirming the next step to have it checked by a qualified practitioner.
