COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation vouchers now available

Business & Economic Development

The Victorian Government has announced a $14.5 million COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Voucher Program which will give Golden Plains Shire’s businesses, community organisations, not-for-profits and trader associations access to more support for outdoor entertainment.

Applications are now open for eligible businesses to secure one of 7,000 vouchers valued at $2,000 to support COVIDSafe outdoor business initiatives for the rest of 2021 and beyond. The initiative is part of Victoria’s $40 million COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Fund.

Golden Plains Shire’s restaurants, cafes, hotels and bars are eligible to apply for vouchers, as are hairdressers, beauty services, dance studios, gyms and retail shops. Successful businesses will be able to use their voucher for expenses including purchasing and hiring marquees, screens and umbrellas, obtaining insurance and promoting outdoor operations to invigorate the community.

A 20 percent allocation of the vouchers will be held for Regional Victorian operations.

Applicants to the program must provide a plan detailing how they will move their business activities outdoors and provide proof that the voucher payment has been spent on eligible items within three months. The program will end once the voucher allocation is exhausted.

Businesses who received the Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package Program in 2020 are ineligible for this support package.

Applications are now open. To find out more, and to apply, visit the COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Voucher Program website.
