This Girl Can Week 2020: Get Involved

Community

There are plenty of fun and free activities on offer in Golden Plains Shire during This Girl Can Week, which runs from 23 to 29 March 2020.

This Girl Can is a Victorian Government campaign to promote physical activity for women and girls. The campaign is dedicated to encouraging more women to give physical activity a shot, whether this is trying something new, returning to a long-lost activity, or visiting a local activity provider or sporting club.

The event will feature modified sports activities, a panel of local women sharing their stories on how they stay active, and ending with the Geelong v Collingwood AFLW match for the Geelong Cats’ last home game of the season.

Council, along with its neighbouring G21 councils, received funding from VicHealth to support community groups with grants, as well as regional promotion of This Girl Can Week events throughout the wider Geelong region.

Interested groups with queries on guidelines, deadlines or other questions, can contact Council’s Health and Wellbeing team on 5220 7111 or email [email protected].
