Circle of Security running in Bannockburn

Child & Family Services
Bannockburn

Due to popular demand and lots of popular feedback, we are rolling our third ‘Circle of Security’ program for local families.

Circle of Security is a relationship-based parenting program run by Council, in collaboration with CentaCare Ballarat.

The course will be run in Bannockburn, starting Wednesday 17 October, 10am-12pm and will run for seven weeks (a commitment of one session per week is required).

Circle of Security helps parents and caregivers increase their awareness of their children’s needs and helps them understand whether their own responses meet these needs. With increased awareness, parents can expand their moment-to-moment parenting choices where needed.

Decades of university-based research have confirmed that secure children exhibit increased empathy, greater self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, enhanced school readiness, and an increased capacity to handle emotions.

Our early childhood educators make themselves available to care for the children while the families are in learning, so that the attendees can concentrate and get the most out of the seven weekly sessions (bookings are essential).

By all reports, participants are loving all the tips they’re learning and the opportunity to expand their parenting knowledge.

To register for the program and/or book in child care, contact Lyndall from our Early Years team on 5220 7230 or [email protected].
