Council is very pleased to announce the Bannockburn Men’s Shed is up and running, with the Certificate of Compliance provided to Council and lease agreements signed by all parties.

The Bannockburn Men’s Shed Committee and members have begun moving equipment into the shed and have already upgraded the facility by introducing a two-coat epoxy resin floor to the main work zone and the Disability Discrimination Act-compliant toilet facility.

The Men’s Shed Committee is delighted with their new space – previously they operated from their own backyard sheds! Located in Victoria Park, Bannockburn, near the Family Services Centre, the new facility provides a safe and productive space for men to work on common projects together, form friendships, talk or learn about what matters to them, and give back to their community.

The Committee would love to see and hear from anyone keen to check out the new space or join the gang.

The Bannockburn Men's Shed is one of four established men's shed groups in the Shire, with groups in Dereel, Linton and Scarsdale going strong.

Funding for this facility has come from a mix of grants that the Men's Shed Committee obtained as well as from their own fundraising activities. To support the project, Council’s Works team managed the project.
