ANZAC Day 2018 events

Golden Plains Shire Council invites members of the community to attend one of the ANZAC Day events taking place on Wednesday 25 April.

A variety of memorial services will be held around Golden Plains Shire to commemorate this very special day; see below for a summary of ANZAC events. 

  • 6am Dawn Service at the Bannockburn monuments.
  • 6am Dawn Service Corindhap Avenue of Honour.
  • 7am Memorial Service Teesdale monument.
  • 7.45am Memorial Service Shelford monument.
  • 9.15am Assembly at front of Inverleigh RSL for march to the Inverleigh monuments for Memorial Service and on completion retire to the Inverleigh Public hall for ANZAC Address by guest speaker. Morning tea will be available in the public hall supper room on completion.
  • 9.45am Parade at the front of the Meredith Hall with a 10am Service.
  • 10am Memorial Service at Smythesdale War memorial followed by 10.30am Morning Tea at Smythesdale Recreation Reserve. 
  • 11am Memorial Service at Haddon Cenotaph on Sago Hill Rd followed by 12pm  lunch at the Haddon Learning Centre.
  • 11am Memorial Service Rokewood in Ferrars St.
  • 12.15pm Memorial Service before the football match at the Bannockburn Football Reserve prior to the reserves match at 12.15pm.

Also, a pre-ANZAC Day student memorial service will be held at Bannockburn monuments on Tuesday 24 April at 2.00pm.
