34 submissions to draft 2018-19 budget

Community

At the Special Meeting of Council on Tuesday 12 June, Council gathered to hear from members of the community who elected to present their draft Budget submissions in person to Council.

All up, Council received 34 written submissions to the draft 2018-19 Budget, and three members of the community spoke about their submissions at the Special Meeting. Submitters spoke about the proposed Child Care fee increase, the Bannockburn Children’s Service profit levels, and the garbage charge.

Councillor Helena Kirby, Mayor, said, "I’d like to thank the three members of the community who took the time out of their busy lives to present their Budget submissions to us this evening. It is an important part of the process to hear from the community about the Budget and it was clear that tonight’s presenters took great care in preparing their submissions and presentations."

"The next step is for Council to consider all submissions as part of our decision making process. We will continue to keep you updated about the process; the final Budget goes to Council on 26 June," said Mayor Kirby.
