From 9am tomorrow morning, the splash pad at the Bannockburn Heart will resume running until Saturday evening for the community to enjoy before closing for winter.
Thank you to everyone who has recently shared their feedback and love of the Bannockburn Heart Water Play Space. Council is heartened to hear how popular the facility has become to the community in the short time since it opened in late 2019.
Council's current policy and budget allows for the splash pad to operate over the summer until the end of daylight savings, which normally coincides with the change in weather. With warm weather predicted tomorrow, Council will extend the water play season until 9pm, Saturday 10 April.
Following the new end date, the water play equipment will be changed over with a basketball hoop, ensuring the site remains an active site for recreation over the cooler months. The adventure playground, active recreation equipment, public toilets, seating and BBQs, and the new outdoor dining area will also remain open for the community to enjoy.
The Water Play Space will reopen in summer, with residents encouraged to keep an eye on this website, Council's social media channels, the Gazette and Council News in the Golden Plains Times later in the year for details on the reopening date.
