Northern Streetscapes Project - Linton

Share this:

Golden Plains Shire Council’s Northern Streetscapes Project will improve the main streetscapes of Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton.

Following community consultation on the Northern Streetscapes Project earlier this year, Council has developed the Draft Streetscape Framework Plan which includes concept designs for the streetscapes of Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton.

Based on themes highlighted by the community, Council have identified six pillars that provide the foundation for the Draft Streetscape Framework Plan. These pillars are road function, parking, pedestrian safety and access, street trees and furniture, place marking and character, and maintenance.

The concept designs outline a broad range of proposed upgrades, alongside a number of smaller scale changes for the streetscapes of each township.

Potential upgrades and changes highlighted in the draft designs include increasing accessible street crossing areas, modification of parking arrangements, installation of public art features and town banners, street tree succession planning, planting of additional roadside vegetation and road safety improvements.

Have Your Say on the Northern Streetscapes Project concept designs

Council is asking the Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton communities to share their views on the concept designs to ensure the beautification project makes the greatest improvement to the streetscapes for local residents and visitors.

The Northern Streetscapes Project engagement is open until Tuesday 14 December, 2021. Please complete the online survey below.
