Council is supporting aspiring community leaders to strengthen their capacity and competency in participation with the return of its Community Leadership Program (the Program).
The Program provides eligible community members with the ability to build and strengthen their capacity in community leadership and participation to ensure these leaders have the capabilities to create beneficial change in the community through tangible actions.
The program aims to develop emerging and aspiring leaders within the Golden Plains community, supporting participants to improve their leadership capabilities, build their knowledge, skills and confidence, and develop community-led initiatives and events.
The Community Leadership Program will be held weekly from Tuesday 31 January until Tuesday 9 May, 2023.
The weekly online sessions will focus on improving leadership capacity and competency and participants will gain a stronger understanding of civic participation and government and learn how they can best progress the change they want to create in their community.

Expressions of interest for aspiring community leaders interested in taking part in the Community Leadership Program were open from Wednesday 7 December, 2022 to 9am, Monday 23 January, 2023,
Community members who live, work, study or volunteer in Golden Plains Shire and are looking to improve their leadership skills, connect with other community leaders and gain experience working with local government were invited to apply.
