Managing Pest Plants and Rabbits in Urban and Peri Urban Areas

Geelong Landcare Network is hosting this free event for anyone interested in managing rabbits on their property, no matter the size of land.

Guest speaker Geoff McFarland from The Victorian Rabbit Action Network will provide information about controlling rabbits including:

• The reason to manage rabbits

• Timing and methods of baiting

• Humane live trapping

• Habitat modification

• The importance of a combined and coordinated approach

There will be presentations from Golden Plains Shire Council, Victorian Serrated Tussock Working Party, Victorian Gorse Taskforce, and the Geelong Landcare Network.

After lunch, we will go to a local property (Austin's Wines) to see demonstrations of habitat modification, fumigation, and trapping.

Following the event, there will be a rabbit baiting program run over a week in April that you will be able to register and purchase bait for.

This event is funded by a Victorian Rabbit Action Network Community Grant and support from the Golden Plains Shire, Victorian Gorse Taskforce, the Victorian Serrated Tussock Working Party, Bannockburn Football and Netball Club, and Austin's Wines.
