100th Anniversary of the opening of the Dereel Soldier's Memorial Hall History day

A celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the opening of the Dereel Solcier's Memorial Hall - presented by Julie Donaghy - Local Historian

The hall will be opened at 10am by our Golden Plains Mayor Helena Kirby, followed Dereel Hall interesting history talk with Pamela Bailey.
At 10.30am, the Dereel/Enfield Scouts will be doing a Flag Raising Ceremony with the Australian, Indigenous & Torres Strait Islander Flags.
A Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Barry Gilson Wadawurrung Man, Singer, Poet and Storyteller will take place at 11am,  followed by a free BBQ at the public Rotunda area near the Skate Park. 

There will be lots to see inside the hall with this local History Display of the Hall, with Racecourse, Dereel Co-Op, Gold Mining, Family History, Maps, School's, Churches, various past user groups, with lots of Historic Pictures of Dereel to view from the projector on the wall.
