Health Service Mapping Project

Share this:

Council is actively working in the area of understanding and strengthening current health service access across Golden Plains Shire Council.

In June 2018, Golden Plains Shire Council embarked on a three-phase, Health Service Mapping Project (the Project) across Golden Plains Shire. The three phases are:

  1. Service mapping – documenting health services available within the Shire, their locations and delivery characteristics
  2. Engagement with the community and service providers
  3. Planning for future health services

This Project is a key action in the Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) priority area, ‘Access to local health and community services’ – Action 2.1.3.

Engagement Update

Engagement Update:

Over a three month community consultation period (August 2018 to October 2018), over 160 community members completed a ‘Community Health Service Survey’ (95 electronic, 65 hard copies), and 93 community members provided input through two conversation posts, and engagement boards which rotated across the Shire. (see image below).

A big thank you to all community members and health service providers who gave us their time to participate in our engagements. Your contribution will assist us to identify opportunities to strengthen future health service delivery in the Shire, and will direct future partnership and advocacy opportunities.

As part of this engagement we also heard from 27 health service providers to ensure that the voices and local perspcectives of service providers were captured. Health Service providers have been provided with a short summary report capturing key findings of this engagement.
