Golden Plains Farmers Market Community Survey

Share this:

Thank you to the 124 community members who responded to our survey in April 2018. Please see below for a summary of community feedback, which will be used to shape the Market’s business plan and future direction over the next five years.

About

About:

Council supports the Market because it strengthens opportunities for local growers and makers, supports the local economy and creates a vibrant community meeting place, where there is access to fresh, local food. Despite its intrinsic community value, we recognise the Market can still be improved upon, so we are asking local market-goers for their views and suggestions to help us shape the Market’s business plan and future direction.

Engagement Update

Engagement Update:

124 community members responded to a community survey in April 2018, and provided feedback about what they loved about the Market, and how it might be improved.

What people love about the market

Survey results reflect the vital role the market performs for local business and residents. The top reasons for attending the market include to buy direct from farmers, to buy local, for fresh food shopping, and for social reasons. The majority of respondents also rated the Market highly for business development, and generating and retaining local spending.

Areas for improvement

80% of survey participants would like more variety and a greater number of stalls, and over 40% would like the inclusion of art and hand-made craft stalls.
