About
Golden Plains Shire Council is seeking feedback from the community for the development of its Footpath Strategy 2023-2033 (The Strategy).
The Strategy will assist Council to manage its current footpath assets and develop pedestrian networks to every township. Data captured from the survey will have an emphasis on connecting communities, providing suitable infrastructure to townships and increasing programming opportunities.
The Strategy will reflect our existing pedestrian networks and identify the gaps within the systems and will allow for recommendations and future plans to be developed, including footpath priority matrix and strategic pedestrian links.
The Strategy is expected to ensure Council can effectively prioritise future upgrades, new footpath construction, encourage physical activity, proactively plan ongoing maintenance and evaluate the utilisation of footpaths across Golden Plains Shire.
Engagement
Thank you to Golden Plains Shire residents who completed the online survey or attended in-person community forums.
Community forums were held at Smythesdale, Haddon and Bannockburn in August 2023.
