Community Leadership Program EOI

Community Leadership HYS Detail

About

Golden Plains Shire Council is supporting aspiring community leaders to strengthen their leadership capacity and competency with the return of its Community Leadership Program (the Program).

The Program aims to develop emerging and aspiring leaders within the Golden Plains community, foster their leadership abilities, enhance their expertise, competence and self-assurance as well as develop community-driven projects and events.

An integral part of the program is designing, developing, and delivering a local community project. The process of developing ideas, forming groups, and implementing projects starts at the beginning of the program, with the expectation that groups will work together to deliver their projects within six months of the program's conclusion.

Community Leadership Program

The Community Leadership Program is suitable for community members who live, work, study, or volunteer in Golden Plains Shire and are looking to enhance their community leadership skills, participation skills, and gain experience working with local government. They are invited to apply.

The Community Leadership Program will consist of 10 sessions, with participants required to attend at least 8 out of 10 sessions to complete the program. The program will begin with the first session in December 2023 before resuming in the week of Tuesday 13 February 2024 and running weekly until the week of Wednesday 1 May 2024.

Participants can select for the program to run on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 12.30pm or Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 9pm. The day selected as most preferred by majority of participants will be the day the weekly program runs on.

The program will be delivered in a mix of face-to-face sessions at Bannockburn Culture Centre, 27 High Street, Bannockburn and online sessions via Zoom.
