An Active Community: Helping Women And Girls Get Active
Council is working with the community to help women and girls to get more active, more often.
Council has sought feedback from women and girls across the Shire to assist with the future development of recreation facilities and the programming of activities.
28 women and girls from across the Shire provided feedback via an online survey.
Council worked with Federation University students to analyse the information from this survey, together with survey data from from local residents and volunteer management groups from the North of the Shire.

What Happens Next
Council will use this information to support local clubs and groups, state sporting associations, and health providers to address need and remove barriers in an effort to offer more suitable and available forms of activity that encourage women and girls to get outdoors and active. Council will also use information regarding effective methods of communication to better promote opportunities and encourage physical activity.
