There is increasing demand for Family Day Care in our growing Shire and Council works in partnership with Family Day Care Educators to promote Family Day Care to families, particularly when you are starting out.

Will I be provided with support?

Family Day Care educators will have regular ongoing contact with Golden Plains Shire Council, including home visits, training, meets and workshops to support you in maintaining currency of skills and knowledge, and help you to deliver quality education and care to the children in your service. 

What are the requirements?

As a Family Day Care Educator, you would be required to have a safe, stimulating, and educational learning environment. Golden Plains Shire Council will carry out an assessment of your residence and advise of any changes that may be required. 

Family Day Care Educators are engaged under a contractual arrangement to operate and are provided support and Guidance from a team of qualified and experienced staff incl. Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor and administration support. 

Golden Plains Shire Family Day Care Educators operate under the National Quality Framework and must comply with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, and Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
