Go For Your Life in Golden Plains
New You Resolutions
Hoping to get in shape in 2009? Sounds good, but you may need more than just good intentions.
Making long term changes in your eating and moving habits can be daunting, but the key is to find things that suit you and your family and make them part of your ongoing lifestyle. If it's not enjoyable or workable in the long term then you're setting yourself up to fail.
*· Remember that everyday recreation such as playing with the kids, gardening, housework and walking to the letterbox all count when it comes to moving so factor them into your day - the Garibaldi playground has just been revamped, have you and your family checked it out yet?
*· Join an organised sporting activity if social interaction, competition and having a set time for moving is what you're after - find out what's on offer through one of Golden Plain Shire many recreation and sporting groups and facilities
*· Eat as much fresh food as possible - if because of distance or lack of transport you only shop once a week, plan your week's menu before you go to make sure you've got enough fresh food to get you through
*· Have a series of quick ways of throwing fresh food together that will satisfy you when haven't got the time or energy to really cook or if it's just too hot - Summer brings with it a whole range of easy salad and stir-fry possibilities
