Australia Day Awards
Citizen, Young Citizen, Senior Citizen and Community Event of the Year awards are presented on Australia Day each year to local citizens/groups who have made an outstanding contribution to the community.
Do you know an outstanding citizen? Someone who has made a special contribution to our community?
The Australia Day Awards are a wonderful way to acknowledge worthy people or events that have made an extraordinary contribution to our community.
Golden Plains Shire is inviting nominations for Council's 2009 Australia Day Awards. Nominations are invited under the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
Nominations must be made on the official nomination form available at both the Linton and Bannockburn Customer Service Centres, by telephoning 1300 363 036 or by visiting Council's website http://www.goldenplains.vic.gov.au/ to download a form and guidelines.

A one page written evaluation of the person or event being nominated for the award must accompany the form. For more information, contact Council's Events & Information Officer, Felicity Bolitho, on 5220 7111.
Nominations close at 4pm on Friday 11 December 2009.
