Event Planning
Register and Promote Your Event
Need to promote your event? Registrations are now open for the Golden Plains Shire Events Calendar. The initiative is a new service provided by Council to promote community and significant events in the region.
Golden Plains Shire Council will maintain and distribute the events calendar, listing major annual & special events both online and in regional publications such as What's On. The online calendar will be used as a promotional tool to raise the awareness of and encourage visitation to the events in our Shire.
To be listed in Council's Events Calendar, events must meet the following criteria.
Your event must:
- Be located in the Golden Plains Shire
- Have a specific start and finish date OR be a regular occurrence at set dates and times (e.g. a market).
- Be an activity that Golden Plains residents and/or visitors can attend or participate in without necessarily having any affiliation with the organisers (e.g. don't have to be a member).

Event FAQ Sheet
Council has developed a 'Guide to Planning a Major Event' as a tool to assist in organising enjoyable, successful and safe events. The guide can be used for an event of any size, although it will be most useful for larger events (more than 200 people) and where the planned activities carry a high risk of injury to participants.
