The funeral to remember the life of former Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor and Councillor Jenny Blake will be held at Tuckers Funeral Chapel, Barrabool Hills Centre (Highton) today, Wednesday 1 May at 2pm.
Jenny was a much-loved member of Golden Plains Shire and served as a Councillor from 1996 until 2016. During this period, Jenny served as the first female Mayor of Golden Plains Shire from 2008 to 2010 and served another term as Mayor from 2012 to 2014.
Jenny along with her husband Kevin, who served as a Councillor with the former Leigh Shire, lived a life of serving and advocating on behalf of all residents of Golden Plains Shire.
As a mark of respect for Jenny and recognition of her service to the Shire, the Australian Flags will fly at half-mast at Golden Plains Shire offices on Wednesday 1 May. Council passes on its sincere condolences to Jenny’s husband Kevin and her family and relatives.
